The Birth of a Team

On a trip to visit family, my wife Nancy asked
me to design a cycling jersey for us to wear.
I told her we needed to come up with a name
for our team by the time we reached our
destination. At the end of the trip one name
stood out and its the name many know us by
today, 'M.O.B. Squad".

Mission

The M.O.B. Squad stands for "Motivated Over Bicycling". Formed in 1995 as a grassroots team mixing former licensed and novice riders, both men and women, wanting to take part in the racing experience, in a team environment. Due to our style of team oriented racing, the M.O.B. Squad has accumulated an impressive record in the past 15 years. With a strong presence not only on the road, but also on the track, mountain biking and cyclo-cross.

From our humble beginnings, year one consisted of 3 riders competing in the citizens category. Myself, long time college friend Danny Duke and Jeff Wright. Together, we used unselfish team tactics which paved the way to many victories and podium finishes. As the years past, I have hand selected riders wanting to be part of this team atmosphere we promoted. Entering our 13th year, the team now consists of 33 adult and 10 junior riders. We continue to provide riders of all categories with a positive enviroment to build confidence and become the best they can be.
