MOB Race Report: August 22

"This is one of the biggest criterium weekends for this area. We actually get to race for a crowd. This is why we get such a big turnout of fast talent from each of the teams. This weekend has been marked on our calendar for awhile so we look to have a full squad at both races."

Bloomington and Zionsville

8.22.07

Bloomington Criterium

At Bloomington the pace was high and so was the heat. I was told alot of guys were shot off the back. The team tried to keep out of trouble and stay up front. Towards the end things got crazy and the finish was no different. Dave Anderson sprinted for 5th place and Scott Hill hit the top 10 with 9th.

Zionsville Criterium

The next day was Zionsville. It was my first time racing this course and It was a fun course I have to admit. In the Cat 4 race the pace was not bad. Rob and Chris did a lot of work up front. I was sitting in the top 11 comfortably. Then more than half way through the race a gap opens up and a rider spead up to catch on to the group. I was behind him and his tire blew. I took a free lap and right on the second turn someone took the corner to hot and crashed. Again I was behind it and that was it. The second crash made the race break open and Chris was with two Morris Trucking guys. They dropped one and he came in for a strong second.

The Cat 3/4 race was exciting to watch. The team road very well together. It looked like something wanted to get away but no one would let that happen. There were lots of attacks and we were always represented. If we did not have a rider in the break it was to bad for the break because someone on the team would bring it back. As always there were alot of good sprinters there at the race. We had a few ourselves and were getting ready for the final laps. With two laps to go Dave Enmark went from the back of the pack to the front. He found Brad up towards the front and Brad just kept Dave towards the front with one lap to go. Dave said that Brad did awesome because when he would slow down he would say keep going and he would. This helped keep Dave out of trouble and ready for the last corners. Coming out of the last corner Dave was charging and took second place. I have not seen an official results posting but I know we had other guys in the sprint.

To end the night Court and John raced the Cat 1/2/3 race. It was a fast race with a group of 9 riders getting off then a solo bridge and the same rider takes off and laps the field. John was racing well but had to deal with a busted seat post. Thanks to Graham he used his saddle and seatpost. But as you know you get used to your own equipment. John was sore at the end. Court raced very well and was in the second group. He sprinted at the end for 5th in that group so around top 16. Once again no official results that I can find.
WAY TO GO EVERYONE!!!!

Thank you for reading this weekends racing reports.

Take Care
