« BACKMOB Race Report: August 22
"Downers Grove is considered one of the most important targets of the year for many racers.
This is the same course that the top riders compete for a national championship. Because of this
you will see the best of the best in each category. Adam is going over to test himself and represent the team.
Go get them Adam!"

Downers Grove Criterium: Cat 3's
Coming off a succesful European tour. Adam wanted to test his fitness at the Cat 3 Downers Grove Criterium. He saw there was still open spots so went to register the day of the race. They said it was closed and would not let him race. It sounds like mom stepped in and took care of business. He was allowed to register and race. The second bit of luck came when they decided to not stage the race by registration which would have put him in second to last position. He had a front row spot. He felt good but seemed to loose spots on the corners because right when they started it poured down rain. With the first few laps done he decided to attack and test those legs. He opened a gap and they let him go. He noticed that they were not bringing him back so he kept going maintaining a 20 second gap. Being in front and being able to pick his own lines with the rain helped him to maintain the gap. With a few laps left he zipped up the jersey and with a two handed salute took the win at Downers Grove in the Cat 3 race.
Thank you for reading this weekends racing reports.
Take Care
